Remembering the Past, Looking to the Future
The 52nd California International Antiquarian Book Fair
February 8 - 10, 2019
This exhibition features books and prints spanning six centuries from the dawn of printing in Europe to the fine press and artists' books of twenty-first century California. The display highlights the commonalities and influences between the historical and modern works, looking at where they share thematic, typographic, and stylistic elements, and at how the printer of today build upon the history of their craft in exploring the future of the book.
60+ books and ephemera derived from the collection of the Albert Sperisen Library at the Book Club of California. Provided support to head librarian Elizabeth Newsom in transport, exhibition design, installation, and collateral creation.
